Organizing your cookbooks and recipes

How do you organize your cookbooks and recipes?

I have a really small house and really have to think about what I "store" in this house.  I am always given recipe magazines or I will pick up the freebies at the store and then I usually just put them in my cookbook cabinet.  Well it got WAY out of hand.  I haven't been using any of those magazines or recipes so I needed to figure out what to do to make my life a little easier.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the way my cabinet was but this is all the stuff I am trashing.  It may not look like much but it is about 5 inches of papers/magazines/recipes.

Now this is what my "cookbook/recipe" cabinet looks like now.  I have some cookbooks and an index card holder with recipes on them.  I am not 100% sure I love this way but for right now I can get a recipe out of the cabinet without all the rest of them falling on my head. :)

It is the little things in life that mean the most.

  1. What has helped me is a binder with those plastic binder paper sleeves. It makes it easy for me to print out a recipe and slip it in the binder. Magazine tear outs slip in easily too. It also is great when I'm cooking b/c the paper is protected. It has all my favorites in one quick and easy cookbook of my own.

  2. Do you also have other cookbooks or do you just rip out the paper from the cookbooks/magazines and put it in your binder?
