Cheap cereal at Albertsons!

This week Albertsons has a pretty good deal on General Mills cereal. Now before you look at the picture and see the $2.50 per box price and think that I am losing my mind, hear me out. :)

What in the world is wrong with Albertsons?  

 Everyone else has these same glue sticks for $.25 or even $.40, not Albertsons they are charging their SALES price of $2.29. 

                       



WOW I went into Albertsons this morning for my FREE milk from a couple of weeks ago.  My coupons are for $4.50, so while I was checking out the prices of all the milks I saw this:  $5.19 for a gallon of Anderson Dairy.   Anderson Dairy is a LOCAL Dairy and yet we are paying this much for it at Albertsons.  WOW!!!!

But on a brighter side! I picked up my 4 gallons of FREE Milk (coupons expired today) and the coupons scanned for $4.50.  I have heard of other Albertsons Milk deals paying overage but this is the first time it has happened to me.   Thank Albertsons for paying me $2.44 to take 4 gallons of milk out of your store.  Too bad all of your other "regular" prices are so high.

I had 12 coupons for Kelloggs cereal ($1/2) expiring tomorrow that I need to use. :)

My plan was to go in and make 4 transactions of 6 boxes of cereal each and pay $7 each transaction  but this is what happened.

Transaction #1 and 2

6 Kelloggs Cereal $1.66ea

   used 3 - $1/2 coupons that were in the boxes about a year ago that expired tomorrow.

   used $1 off Fruit WYB 2 boxes of Kelloggs ~ peelie that was on one of the Kelloggs boxes.

1 ~ 12.6oz M&Ms $2.99

    used Free M&Ms WYB 2 Kelloggs cereal (peelie on one of these boxes of cereal.)

Grand total $7.12

and received 2 catalinas for FREE MILK

Milk is going for about $2.60ea  here, so I guess I only spent $1.92 more for all the items above than if I were just going to get 2 gallons of milk.

I have to admit I will be shopping at Albertsons this week.

Now you all know that I have a $1 limit on my cereal, BUT this week I have an exception.  WYB 3 boxes of participating Kellogg's, you get a catalina for a FREE gallon milk (up to 9 boxes and 3 gallons of milk)-. 
That ROCKS!  I am going to use the $1/2 coupons I received in other boxes of Kelloggs last year (they are expiring Thursday)

I had 12 Albertsons doubler coupons that were BURNING a hole in my pocket apparently.

I went over to Albertsons to figure out some deal scenerios.

This is what I came up with...

I had 4 transactions because they only let me use 3 Albertsons Doubler coupons in one transaction.

I have NO idea why it would do that but they were still free. :)

My total OOP $5.81 Tax alone was $.88


Total OOP for everything was $13.73. I also received $7 in RR and a $5 catalina so it was like spending $1.73

August 8/7/10 - Albertsons

I found some pretty cool deals at Albertsons with help from Calling all Super Savers.

I picked up:

2- Raisin Bran was $2.5

2- Cinnabon was $1.99

Not sure why the price difference but because I am blogging this I am looking at the receipt.

- $5 for getting the 10 items above (or $.50 per item)

total was $34.09 or $29.09 if the $5 for the cheese and cereal came off first (mentioned above).

$5 off $30 that I received in the mail. (because of the Cinnabon cereal being $1.49 after the

instant $5 off I was a $1 short but the coupon still worked. Not sure what happened

because when I looked at the register before giving her all my coupons my total said

$32.69.)

I picked up the Cinnabon cereal because I noticed that it had a MIR attached to it.
So I am going to fill out the paperwork and get my $1.99 back from Kelloggs ( you need the orginal receipt so only can do it once even though I picked up 2 of them)

and then on top of that I received $5 off my next visit just for picking up the Kraft shredded cheese. If you take the $6.68 - $1.99 MIR and - $5 Kraft Catalina I actually got paid to take food home from Albertsons. :)
Because of the August Budget challenge I am not going to factor in the Mail In Rebates (MIR) unless I receive them this month (which I will not, it takes 6-8 weeks) so my totals for spending for the month will be the actual CASH used this month.

Albertsons Part 1 MONEY MAKER

I just got home from Albertsons.

I purchased 8 Kelloggs cereals $1.88 ea
2 Fruit Loops
2 Raisin Bran
1 Frosted Flakes
2 Corn Pops
1 Coco Krispies
Total 15.04

I had to go today because I had 5 coupons totaling $7 that were expiring. NOTE: none of the coupons were for the exact cereal I purchased but they were for Kelloggs.
If you got last Sundays newpaper, Albertsons had 3 coupons that would double any 3 of your coupons up to a $1 each.

Total $15.04
coupons $7
Doubled 3 coupons $3
New Total $5.04
But wait I had a Catalina for $2.50 from the Fruit snacks last week.
That totals $2.54 for 8 Large Kellogg cereal boxes.

I also got a Catalina for $4 for my next purchase. I guess that was a money maker of $1.46
